Carver County
Discreet cleanup for Young America addresses.
Hoarding cleanup, gross filth remediation, and after-death cleanup for Young America properties — part of Norwood Young America, covered by Biohazard Cleanup MN.
Young America has been part of the city of Norwood Young America since the two communities merged in 1997, and Biohazard Cleanup MN covers every address that still carries the name — about 35 miles southwest of Minneapolis, in western Carver County. Hoarding cleanup is the service we are called for most, followed by estate clearing and cleanup after a death.
If you are looking at the wider city rather than a specific Young America address, our Norwood Young America page covers the same services across both historic town cores. Everything on this page applies there too.

Two names, one address — and why it matters on paperwork
Two names for one address is the quirk that sets Young America apart
from every other community we serve. Mail, older deeds, insurance
declarations, and plenty of GPS records still say Young America, while
county and municipal records say Norwood Young America. Day to day, that
costs nobody anything.
It surfaces during a claim. Biohazard remediation after a death or a
severe hoarding situation is frequently billed through a homeowner's
policy, and adjusters work from exact addresses. When the loss address
on a claim does not match the municipality on file, the question that
follows can hold up an approval for days at the precise moment a family
least wants delay.
How we handle it
We record the property both ways — the address as it appears on your mail and the municipality as the county records it — on estimates, photo documentation, and disposal records. It takes us no extra time and it removes a question an adjuster would otherwise have to ask. If you are unsure which form your policy uses, read it to us over the phone and we will match it.
What to have ready when you call
Having a few details ready makes the first call short and the estimate far more accurate. None of it is required — if you only know that the house is bad and you need help, that is enough to start.
- The address as it appears on your mail, whichever name it uses
- Whose name the property is in — owner, estate, or landlord
- Roughly how many rooms are affected, and whether the basement is involved
- Whether there is waste, odor, mold, or pest activity
- Whether an insurance claim is already open, and with which carrier
From there we can usually tell you the likely scope, a realistic timeline, and whether it is worth opening an insurance claim before any crew is scheduled. Our guide on who pays for death and crime scene cleanup covers the insurance side in more detail, and hoarding cleanup cost in Minnesota explains what actually drives the price.

Availability
Biohazard Cleanup MN takes calls anytime, and you reach a real person rather than a call center queue. Same-day or next-day visits are usually possible, and biohazard emergencies are prioritized over scheduled work.
Discretion
Unmarked vehicles, plain clothing, no signage, and no conversations with neighbors. In a community this size that is the part people ask about first, and we plan the arrival around it.

Frequently asked
Young America questions, answered honestly.
Is Young America still its own city?
Not since 1997. Young America and Norwood merged that year to form the single city of Norwood Young America, in Carver County. The Young America name stayed in everyday use on mailing addresses, older deeds, and how people describe where they live. For our purposes none of that matters — it is one service area, one rate, and one phone number.
My insurance paperwork says Young America but the county says Norwood Young America. Is that a problem?
It is a common mismatch and it is usually harmless, but it is worth catching early. Adjusters occasionally flag a property when the address on a claim does not match the municipality in county records. We list both forms on our documentation and photos so the file is unambiguous from the start, which tends to keep a biohazard claim moving instead of stalling on a clerical question.
Why is the Young America name so familiar?
Because of the mail. For decades, mail-in rebate and premium offers from companies all over the country were processed through a Young America, Minnesota address, so the name became familiar far outside Carver County. It is a piece of local history most residents are quietly proud of, and it is the reason the old name never really went away.
Do you charge more to come out this far?
No. Young America sits about 35 miles southwest of Minneapolis, and the whole of Carver County is inside our normal service area rather than a special trip. There is no travel surcharge for being outside the inner suburbs. Call (612) 493-2982 any hour and we can usually arrange a same-day or next-day visit.
Whichever name is on your mail — we cover it.
Call and describe the property. We will explain what is involved, what it is likely to cost, and how quickly we can get there.
